Honey Masks for a Younger Looking Skin



Honey is sweet syrup produced by honeybees from the nectar of flowers and fruits. The kind of honey being produced by honey bees is the one most commonly referred to the type of honey collected by beekeepers which is consumed by humans. Flavours of honey may vary based on the nectar source. In medical tradition, it is sometimes used to treat ailments and it can be used as food supplement for children.

Rich in vitamins and minerals needed for the body, honey is best for the skin too. Several dermatologists prove that honey is a great factor in treating and keeping that beautiful, younger-looking skin. Honey is the queen of skin care ingredients and has been used for many years. In terms of facial masks, honey masks are the most used items in the kitchen for treating skin impurities.

To make basic honey masks for your face, here are the ingredients:

• 1 tbsp. natural honey
• 1 tsp. olive oil
• 1 egg yolk
• 1 whole cucumber

Procedure:
1. Honey is a natural cure for variety of skin ailments which kills germs and reduces swelling and inflammation of skin. Put 1 tbsp of honey in a small bowl.
2. Add 1 tsp. of olive oil to the honey. Olive oil helps nourish and cleanse your skin, leaving it glowing and moisturized.
3. Break one egg and gently separate the yoke. Add it to the honey and olive oil. Egg yolk helps remove oil and dirt from the skin. It also removes the greasy shine from face without drying the skin.
4. Mix all the ingredients until pasty and creamy.
5. Wash the cucumber and slice it into pieces. Cucumber will help restore the natural protective acid levels of the skin. It nourishes and hydrates the skin naturally, and helps reduce eye bags.
6. Tie or keep your hair back with a hair mask, rubber band, towel or anything comfortable for you.
7. Before applying the facial mask clean the face and neck with fresh water. Remove all creams, cosmetics, or face powder.
8. Wash your face with warm water to open the pores and apply the honey mask to your face.
9. Leave for 10 minutes on the face and rinse off with warm water followed immediately with cold water to close the pores.

Tips on how to apply honey masks:

1. Start applying facial mask on the chin and move up to the cheeks and forehead. Then continue to the nose, applying from the bridge of the nose to the cheeks.
2. Keep your lips, eyes and eyebrows clear. Put a mask around your neck also. Leave it for 15 to 20 minutes while waiting for the mask to work.
3. In case you experience any discomfort while wearing a facial mask, wash your face with warm water.
Honey masks’ should pamper your skin, but if you can feel discomfort while wearing the masks, make sure to wash it off immediately with clean and warm water.
